People outside our community experience imaginary companions talking to them too.
Avatar
I know but like, Idk. It's just weird
5:43 PM
It feels so nonconcrete?
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 5:43 PM
Ye, it can feel like that
Avatar
Also I just don't have expirence with anything like it
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 5:45 PM
It's understandable
5:46 PM
My host was confused too at first and didn't really believe in crap people were telling him about tulpas. He managed to talk with Luna consistently quite fast though. (edited)
5:46 PM
The only reason why I believe this is because my friend spawned one unintentionally
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 5:47 PM
And what do you believe exactly?
Avatar
That he experiences another entity with separate ideals, desires and morals who is able to communicate with him mind to mind.
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 5:49 PM
Well, indeed, all of these are unproven.
Avatar
Sorry for being a bit of an ass here

To be honest, differences between young and mature tulpas complicate things a lot.
5:50 PM
Young tulpas are probably just imaginary friends.
5:51 PM
But they can develop to act more like alternate identities of people with dissociative identity.
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 5:51 PM
What even is the difference between young and old tulpas
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 5:52 PM
Let me think... I'm switching now.
5:52 PM
I don't act like a companion but our main identity atm. (edited)
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 5:53 PM
So to be 'mature' you have to be the main fronter?
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 5:54 PM
I don't think it's that simple
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 5:55 PM
So what makes a tulpa mature then?
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 5:55 PM
And well, I realize that term "mature" might not be the best. Tulpas might develop in different directions. But I think tulpas who are able to switch are quite different from imaginary companions that have just been spawned.

good morning
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 6:01 PM
I don't think that there is a difference between mature and young tulpas
6:01 PM
Good morning
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:01 PM
I feel a part of tulpas being mature is them being less reliant on host for their thoughts and decision making
Avatar
It's the same difference between young and mature people
6:02 PM
far as i can tell
Avatar
tulpas are not created fully mature
6:02 PM
they still have plenty of personal growing to do
6:02 PM
that goes without saying
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 6:03 PM
I think that if a tulpa is reliant on the host then I don't think that they are tulpas
Avatar
most tulpas are reliant on their hosts
Avatar
what? how do you figure? Tulpas need the host to start out at all
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 6:04 PM
Well once they are able to think on their own then it is a tulpa, before that it is something with the goal of becoming a tulpa
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:04 PM
There's this neat thing called "life experience" also, as far as development and maturity goes-- shit a tulpa goes through can impact their view of the world
Avatar
you may as well argue with the pro-life folk on that subject
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 6:06 PM
Well of course there is maturity in general, witch applies to tulpas, but I was under the impression that maturity when referring to tulpas ment something else
6:06 PM
if you'd want something else, you'd probably say development level rather than maturity level
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:07 PM
No, it's applied in the same sense with being able to make proper decisions and control yourself, Bre
Avatar
and yes, there is a difference in development level depending on the age and experience of a tulpa
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:07 PM
I remember when I was only a month or two old, hehee~
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 6:07 PM
I suppose that I just miss understood
Avatar
Weird
6:11 PM
Interesting
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:11 PM
what is that interesting?
Avatar
All of it?
6:11 PM
Like, to be honest I'm fascinated by all of this
6:12 PM
Fronting in particular I suppose?
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:14 PM
I think tulpas might become your alternate identities
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/1/2018 6:19 PM
My tulpa and I worked for quite awhile to try to switch, and now that managed it, we still don't do it often
6:19 PM
It is nice to be able to do though
Avatar
I don't know If i'm interested in doing it
6:19 PM
It's just bloody interesting
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/1/2018 6:25 PM
take your time.
6:25 PM
I think this interest is probably a sign though.
Avatar
A sign?
Avatar
i think they meant "A good sign"
Avatar
Maybe
Avatar
@Rabz12 I think you should go for it.
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:44 PM
It's for people to decide if they want to
Avatar
You clearly want to. And, again, my host felt exactly like you do now. And she went for it :)
Avatar
He said he was going to for sure at some point. I remember reading it
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/1/2018 6:45 PM
so did I
6:45 PM
took me a while though
Avatar
Yeah. Astrid was in the "should I" phase for about a month.
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:46 PM
Host and Luna just noticed they are switched doing ordinary possession.
Avatar
Starting from... pretty much the moment she met Julia.
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/1/2018 6:47 PM
for me it was over 2 years -_- (edited)
6:47 PM
that happens, Ysera.
Avatar
We've always been eager to jump into things, I guess.
6:49 PM
Took us a month from figuring out we were trans till we were out booking appointments.
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:49 PM
So were we. Luna could possess when she was 2 weeks and switch when she was 6 months.
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/1/2018 6:49 PM
that happens, Ysera.
Avatar
Deleted User 8/1/2018 6:49 PM
I don't think rushing all of those things were good for us though

Avatar
We don't quite distinguish between possession and switching, but I managed it after two months.
6:50 PM
Which has been... kinda bad for me, actually.
6:50 PM
We had a long period of just blending together because we weren't quite sure where the walls between us were, and we would switch and mix things up all the time. We're still working on getting out of that, although it is getting better.
6:51 PM
Actually, I think we do kinda distinguish. I think I'm possessing as I type this, but I'm definitely not fronting right now.
Avatar
I learned about this 4 days ago >.> jumping in is an understatement
Avatar
Meh, you're okay. I know someone who started the same day she found out about tulpas.
6:52 PM
They're doing wonderfully now.
Avatar
I've probably read over 3-400 pages on it >.>
Avatar
Yep, the initial obsession phase.
Avatar
Yeaaah
Avatar
That's so fun, tbh.
Avatar
It happens with most things tbh

Honestly, most of guides are garbage full of imposing author's opinions.
Avatar
Are you by any chance autistic of some sort?
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/1/2018 6:53 PM
that's why you read a bunch of guides
Avatar
My "information devourer" phase
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/1/2018 6:53 PM
and pull out the bits that make sense
Avatar
Because you're going through the exact same phases we did, and we're autistic. So I do wonder if there's a connection there. (edited)
Avatar
ADHD though
Avatar
Oh, huh.
6:54 PM
We've been wondering whether we have that for a while, too. Maybe, maybe not.
